From Mevaseret to Ein Kerem

The interim days of Passover, 2019: A beautiful walk that circles the west of Jerusalem, and is possibly completely without a car! We began here, at Rekhes Halilim (take the bus to Mevaseret and get off a few stops into Mevaseret) but we soon found it impossible to walk - huge rocks, ups and downs - with our huge carriage. For kids over four or five who can walk well on their own, this is a lovely carless hike easily accessible from Jerusalem! The beginning of the hike looks like this..... And in a shady area on the hike Then we gave that up - too hard with a carriage! But then we discovered a surprise exciting carless walk. We began this walk by getting off the Mevaseret-Jerusalem bus - on our way back to Jerusalem - at the first stop after Mevaseret - by Bet Zayit. We set off on a bike/walking path, part of the new path that encircles Jerusalem.
